Ok I don’t know about any of you but I happen to suffer oily skin and hair.  Unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with perfect skin or hair but hey you work with what you got.  I’m the type of person who has to wash their hair everyday and if I don’t well then it just looks gross.

On to my BIG problem:  Yesterday I noticed after I washed my hair and blow-dried it that at the top of my scalp my hair looked oily and felt weird (kind of like dried hair gel).  Ok I chalked it up to maybe I didn’t have enough shampoo in my hair.  Today-I washed my hair twice got out toweled off put on lotion then proceeded to dry my hair.  Well wouldn’t you know it look EXACTLY like it did yesterday-ahhhhhhhh!  Now I’m thinking maybe it’s because I first put lotion on and some of it got in my hair to make it weird.  So what do you think I did.  If you said washed my hair again then ding, ding, ding, you were absolutely correct.  And can any of you guess how my hair looked after blow drying it AGAIN–IT LOOKED FREAKING OILY!!!

Now as many of you can guess I’m a little annoyed at this point; I have never had this problem before and now all of a sudden it’s been out of control for the past couple of days.  I did do a little research and saw that I could dye or highlight my hair because it’ll dry out your hair.  Ok I can do that, I can go buy a bottle of hair dye if it’ll work.  But my question is what really works, what types of shampoo are good for oily hair.  I’m desperate and I can’t stand the way my hair is looking so it’s up to you bloggy world to help a sister out.

Random Meme January 30, 2008

Filed under: Totally Random — Jesse @ 4:23 pm

So a couple of days ago Tracy tagged me for a meme and she’s right since I love doing them she knew I would do this one so here it goes.

5 Random/Weird Things About Me

  1. I tend to be a bit compulsive about things like making sure the door is locked; I’ve gotten better I only check twice and not all the time.  But when I don’t it drives me crazy wondering.
  2. After the first season of Survivor I stood in line for 2 hrs to audition-and no I didn’t get called back.  I was a little upset.
  3. I’m scaredno make that absolutely petrified of roaches, especially the ones that are freaking humongous and fly.  Ok just thinking about it drives me crazy.
  4. I would love to be an actress but even if I couldn’t walk the red carpet I could settle for a permanent role on The Young and The Restless.
  5. I don’t really find this last one weird or random but some might.  I have 2 kids and I really want one more and then a few years after that I want to adopt a child from a foreign country.

5 Places I Want to See or See Again

  1. Italy-there is something about that country.
  2. Alaska-I hear it’s gorgeous and I would love to take a cruise there.
  3. Disney World-I haven’t been there since I was 10 so I think I’m way passed due.
  4. Europe-I would love to go on an extensive vacation I’m talking 3 months.
  5. Montana-wouldn’t it just be cool to lay out under that beautiful sky and stay in a log cabin enjoying peace and beauty.

Now I know I’m supposed to tag 5 people but I’m not going to.  So if you want to do this let me know so I can see what you posted. :)

Filed under: Just Another Day, Special Memories — Jesse @ 8:58 am

Thank you so much for wishing me a happy birthday-it really made my day.  Alright so here’s the low down on how my day went.  Started off with David having to go to work-sucked, but the kids and I went to church and it was a really good service.  Then afterwards the in-laws and my little clan went to a Mexican restaurant-mmm delicious.  Of course after all that you know I came home and took a nap.  Oh I almost forgot Amy’s birthday (David’s cousin) is the same day as mine and we all celebrated that night.  My mil made Paul Dean’s homemade chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and biscuits; all topped off with a German chocolate cake.  It was my request and man was it good.

Now on to the gifts–my fil took Sweet Pea to pick out a card and a gift and I couldn’t wait to open it.  The card had Princess Aurora on it and then in the inside she asked him to write “Mommy I love you and I want to say happy birthday.  One more thing I wanted to tell you, you’re the best!”  Then at the bottom he wrote “I wanted to buy you a book Mommy because I know you like to read.”  Isn’t that just sweet, I mean this is stuff she says to me but her making sure her Grumps wrote it in a card was so precious that it brought tears to my eyes.  As for the book it’s called Desiderata, it’s a poem and on one page a verse is highlighted and the other page has pictures of babies.

As for gifts I got some money and some gift cards and yesterday I went and bought me my first “designer” purse.  It’s not any of the ones I posted and the Coach one I really wanted was gone and apparently they no longer make it because it’s off their website.  That sucked but I did find a purse I really like it, and it’ll go with anything.  There’s a picture of the purse I got and the color I chose it the brown one in the front.

Only 2 More Days January 25, 2008

Filed under: Just Another Day — Jesse @ 12:36 pm

Ahhh I’m getting excited because there is only 2 more days until my birthday!  Sunday is the big day when I turn 29, I can’t believe I’m about to be 29.  This is it after this year I will no longer be able to to consider myself in my 20s.  Sure it’s a little sad but I’ll get over it–actually the only thing that makes me sad is that my Sweet Pea will soon be 5 and starting school.  This bit of sadness of my youth and Sweet Pea turning 5 and Monkey who just turned 2 may explain why I’m having baby fever again.  I usually start on Wed. and well the crimson tide hadn’t come in so a part of me was a little excited but at the same time I don’t want one just yet.  Anyway the tide came rolling in yesterday and a part of me was kind of sad.  Oh well I know now is not the time besides Ashly said she would like the two of us to be pregnant at the same time which would be so much fun.  Alright well I gotta go and I hope y’all have a great weekend and I’ll try to be back on here at least by Sunday to let you know how MY DAY is going.

Craziness January 23, 2008

Filed under: In the News — Jesse @ 11:14 am

I’m sure as many of you know Heath Ledger was found dead in his apt. yesterday.  Seriously what is going with these people in Hollywood; last week it was Brad Renfro, and now this week Ledger.  It seems like everytime you turn on the t.v. they are talking about how screwed up many of the people in Hollywood are-like we didn’t already know that.  Someone is going to rehab or court and of course many are obsessed about these people every single move.

I mean do you ever wonder if many of these celebrities think they are immune and that nothing can happen to them even though many of them are suffering from drugs, or alcohol.  I’m sure these celebrities have to have some close friends and family to tell them that they are heading down a road of destruction.  As with the Heath Ledger thing I really hope it was accidental but sadly we’ll never know.  I really for sorry for his family and also his little girl that he left behind.  This may sound dumb but I think something (I don’t know what) should be done to reach these people and let them know that all the money, and fame you have does not make you invincible, you’re just like everyone else and what you’re doing is a waste of the talent you were given and all that it took to get you where you are.

Ok so here’s a question:  Do you think if you were rich and famous that you would fall into the traps of that scene?  Answer:  If it were to happen to me tomorrow, NO.  If it were to happen in my very early 20s possibly.  Also seeing how Hollywood is would you ever encourage your child to follow their dream and become an actor?  This is a toughy because I want to encourage my children in all that they do, so I guess I just have to pray that we’ll continue to have a close relationship and really show them the dangers of how others will take advantage of you.

Alright last bit–did any of you hear about a Pastor in Topeka, KS wanting to pickett Ledger’s funeral because he did Brokeback Mountain.  I pray that this is false and not true; but if it is true that I’m saddened and disgusted.  I for one am a Christian, I’m not perfect in fact very far from it and knowing someone who is supposed to be a leader of his church doing that just infuriates me.  I mean who do these people think they are-so what if he did that movie, does that give them the right to intrude on this family’s mourning-NO.  Also who are we to judge how other people choose to live their lives.  I for one have made many mistakes in my life but that doesn’t mean that I don’t deserve God’s love.  Ok I’m going to stop or else I could go on and I don’t want to bore any of you.  Anyway I hope y’all have a great day, and let me know what you think.

Working Out January 20, 2008

Filed under: Fitness Journal — Jesse @ 11:55 am

This was my first week of really getting back into the swing of things.  Monday was my first day of working out in a long, long, time.  I know every year a lot of people (myself included) choose loosing weight as their New Year resolution.  But this year is the year that I’m really going to get back into shape; not so much as losing weight but more of losing inches and just feeling and looking healthy.  But as some of you may know I also worked out Wed., and Thurs.  Oh and by Thurs. I was a little sore but considering the workout my trainer gave me it wasn’t like I couldn’t move the next day.  I was sore but not miserable so that’s good.

And now I’m at the start of another week and I’m going to keep going to the gym at least 3 times a week even if I don’t want to and feel lazy I will go 3 times no matter what.  Hope y’all have had a good weekend.

I think I found something better. January 16, 2008

FYI–I actually hit the gym today and I plan on going again tomorrow.  I’m bound and determined that this is year I finally get serious and loose some weight and definitely some inches.

So after working out I headed up to the mall to check out the purse I wanted and I wasn’t as impressed as I was seeing it on the computer.  It was cute but it didn’t look like it did on the computer; I don’t know how to explain it it just looked different.  The next time you go to the mall swing by the purses and you’ll see what I mean.  On the other hand I did manage to find a purse that I really like.  Coach-Chelsea Signature Large Hobo $298.  For a better and bigger look at this purse click here http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=9683&category_id=581

Again this time last year I really wanted to splurge for my birthday and buy an expensive purse but just couldn’t bring myself to spend the money.  However, when I saw this purse and saw how roomy it is I fell in love with it and it’s only about $15 more.  Can you tell I’m trying to justify getting an expensive purse–does anyone else have an expensive purse?  If you do was it worth the price?

A Little Bit of This and That January 14, 2008

Filed under: A Little Indulgence, Just Another Day — Jesse @ 9:35 pm

I know I’ve been away the past couple of days but I’ve been doing school stuff.  Oh and David was out-of-town for work all day Saturday and came home Sunday night.  So that meant that today I got nothing done.  Ok strike that I did manage to go to the gym and lift some weights-go me.  I can’t tell you that last time I worked out and when it showed when I stepped on the scale and it said 162 lbs-grrr.  I have no one to blame but myself for all the delicious cookies and deserts I shoved in my mouth.  And I had to go to the store because my poor little Monkey has a diaper rash and what I had wasn’t working so I bought the best diaper cream ever-Bordeaux Butt Paste-yes I know funny name but man does this stuff work.  Since he’s on a stronger antibiotic it’s caused him a tummy ache which it said could happen and now he has a diaper rash, and I feel terrible everytime I have to change him.

Other than than a two loads of laundry that’s all I did because David decided that he needed the computer today.  And not to complain but I will today everytime I asked him to do something I had to ask like 3 freaking times.  He was like zoned out or probably purposely zoning me out today-quite aggravating.  Off rant-he had to go out-of-town again and won’t be home until late tomorrow night and yes I do miss him when he’s gone.

Alright just one last thing; I’ve been contemplating on buying a new purse and of course David doesn’t understand why I need another purse-men-they don’t get it.  So I think I’ve decided what purse I would like for my birthday.  Yes you read that correctly my birthday is coming up very, very soon-January 27 to be exact if you would like to send cards or gifts please email me and I will be sure to give you my address-insert sarcasm.  Seriously I would never expect any of you to do just make sure to drop me a line that day and that will make me very happy.

Oh yeah the purse-sorry add moment-here is a picture.  It’s the Medium Chiara Bag either in the color black or coffee ($285).  Let me know what you think.

Oh and here’s another one it’s called Crossword East/West Bucket ($235).  Please don’t think I own name brand purses because I don’t I usually go to Payless, but I really want a new purse and I really like Dooney so let me know what y’all think and remember this would be my birthday gift.  Ok hope y’all have a great day and remember I’ll be looking for your comments.

My semester has officially started January 11, 2008

Filed under: Just Another Day, Mommy Talk — Jesse @ 10:02 am

Sorry I’ve been a way the past couple of days but school officially started for me on Wed. so I’ve been printing out my syllabus for each class and trying to get back into the groove of things.  With the start of every semester I always get really nervous and wonder how I’m going to accomplish all of my work, plus the kids, and of course all of the other household things I do.  In case you’re wondering David does help me out but usually I have to ask.  Why is it that men have to be asked to do something?  Why can’t they just see that stuff needs to be done?  And why can’t they be as observant as us?  Ok, ok I’m done with that itty bitty rant-but please feel free to comment on it.

Anyways back to the real subject; so far so good with school.  As for other aspects of my life well Wed. night Monkey came into our room and was running a fever and ended up sleeping in our bed.  He still was running a fever Thurs. morning and he’s had this cough on and off but the last couple of days he seems to be coughing more.  So I decided to go ahead and make him a Dr. appt. and I was able to get in yesterday morning.  Well wouldn’t you know he has another ear infection, or I guess you could say that the last one never really went away even though I gave him his medicine.  So the Dr. this time around prescribed a stronger antibiotic and I hope it really helps this time around; then I go back in 2 weeks for his 2 yr check-up and for them to look at his ears again.  As for last night he ended up sleeping with us which I don’t mind but at times it’s not comfortable because he tends to squirm as all kids do.  But I do love him snuggling up to me and wanting me to hold him without all the wiggling so I can handle his few occasional squirms.

Alright well that’s been my week so far in a nutshell and I shall return tomorrow to talk about whatever floats my boat.  Have a great weekend!
