Delightfully Chaotic

Growing like a weed

“Just as he is sharing all of your adventures, others are sharing his. They were with him when he hid from the boys in the book store.”

“Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.”-X-Men

Summer isn’t even officially over and Sweet Pea has outgrown just about everything in her closet.  Near the end of May I had bought her new sandals and flip-flops, and now she has grown out of her shoes.  But that’s not the only thing-her clothes as well.  All of her t-shirts from last year are to small, along with all of her dresses.  Anyways yesterday I made a list of clothes she needs and man the list is long-she basically needs a whole new wardrobe.  However, the good thing is that Aug. 17 is our tax free weekend so that’s when I’m going to go shopping.  And as you can imagine I’m pretty excited about because really any type of shopping is fun for me.  Now for the not so fun part, well it could be-I need to take Sweet Pea to the store and find out exactly what her sizes are so when I do go shopping I’ll know and won’t have to guess.  So my plan for tomorrow is 1. taking her to the movies (it’s the last one on the summer movie thing), 2. go have some lunch, and 3. Go to Target and possibly the mall to try on clothes.  We’ll see how this all goes tomorrow.  Have a happy Monday!

High School Spirit Meme

“I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is”

“Smile, you son of a bitch.”-Jaws

So I was cruising around blog world the other day when I came upon Musings of a Housewife and she had a meme that I hadn’t seen and thought I would do it so here it goes.

High School Spirit Meme

(black and gold-school colors)

1. Who was your best friend?  Well I had two best friends in high school-Alissa and Bonnie

2. Did you play any sports?  No I didn’t, instead I was a trainer so I could hang around a bunch of cute guys.  But even though I didn’t play in school my friends and I played volleyball, and I would run around the neighborhood.

3. What kind of car did you drive?  I drove a gold 1986 Honda Accord

4. It’s Friday night. Where were you?   After the game we would go out and party.

5. Were you a party animal?  OMG yes,  that’s pretty much all I did during and even after high school.

6. Were you considered a flirt?  Yes but I wasn’t the type to steal or mess around with someones guy-not my style.

7. Were you in the band, orchestra or choir?  No

8. Were you a nerd?  No, but I wasn’t popular either.  I guess you could say I was somewhere in the middle.

9. Were you ever suspended or expelled?  Not in high school but I was in Jr. High.  I think I spent a total of about a couple of months in and out I.S.S. (in school suspension)

10. Can you sing the fight song?  No

11. Who was your favorite teacher?  Coach Yeager

12. What was your school mascot?  Panther

13. Did you go to the Prom?  Yes and I had a blast even though by boyfriend had gotten a speeding ticket leaving the after party.

14. If you could go back, would you?  No way!

15. What do you remember most about graduation?  Throwing around beach balls and I a few people blew up some condoms and threw them around as well.

16. Where were you on Senior Skip Day?  Hmmm, hanging out at a friends house getting drunk-I know bad girl.

17. Did you have a job your senior year?  Yes, and it was my first job-I was a bank teller.

18. Where did you go most often for lunch?  The snack bar.

19. Have you gained weight since then?  Umm yeah I’ve gained a little to much weight.

20. What did you do after graduation?  Moved in with my boyfriend and took a year off from school.

21. What year did you graduate?  1997

22. Who was your Senior Prom Date?  His name was Ricky Stewart.

23. Are you going/did you go to your 10 year reunion?  My 10 yr reunion is this coming August and I don’t think I’m going to go because really what is the point.  To see a bunch of people who were fake then and probably are now or at least will be when they see their old friends-no thanks.  Don’t get me wrong I had a little to much fun back then, and part of me is curious but I didn’t keep up with anyone except Alissa because well she was my one true friend.  So in other words No I won’t be going.

Ok so if any of you want to do this feel free and let me know so I can read your post-have a great day.

I am summer.

“If we’re caught, we’re gonna hang… But there’s many a slip twixt the cup and the lip.”

“God couldn’t be everywhere so that is why he invented mothers.”-Because I Said So

You Are Summer!

Outgoing

Friendly

Flirty

Cute

Fun

What Season Woman Are You?

I don’t really do these quizzes but some of them are funny and I thought what the heck.  Now even though the adjectives describe me pretty well I couldn’t believe it said I’m summer.  I HATE summer, I mean really HATE summer.  But hey I’ll take what it says-so what are you?

Chris/Melanie-Thanks for showing me that table off of Amazon-it’s really cute.  I like the idea of the paper roll on the end.  But my fil said he could make me that same table for like $75-100 which would include everything.  Then afterwards I’ll go to Wal-Mart or Target to get some crates to put underneath.

Tracy-I know what you mean about how stuff never looks as neat as it does in the pictures.  That’s how our house is-toys everywhere, and like you I tend to be a neat freak.  I pick toys up every day to only see it messed up again.

Ok please don’t take this the wrong way but only Catwoman commented on my Can You See My Hands? post.  Maybe y’all missed it and if so I really think y’all should read it because it’s to funny to miss.  Alright well I’m off to catch up on some of your blogs-have a good Monday. 🙂

Must Organize

For the past couple of days I’ve been searching the internet for ways to declutter the kids bedroom and playroom.  I’m not exactly sure what I want to do I just know that something needs to be done.  It’s not like toys are scattered all of the floor that you can’t see the carpet-although it feels like that.  I just want to do something so it looks decent.  With that being said I’ve also been wondering if I should get Sweet Pea an art desk or a table for her and the Monkey.

Here’s the art desk I was thinking of getting her.    I really like it and there’s space for her to put her crayons and stuff but will she outgrow it to soon.  I know Monkey could use it but I would hate to get it and then her be to big for it.  The price for this is about $69 at Wal-Mart.

Now this is what I found in Pottery Barn Kids and I really like it.  It’s definetly more than I want to spend but I like how they can both stand or sit at this table and how you can buy two carts to go underneath it for storage.  Then this way they could both be at the table at the same time and hopefully although doubtful there will be no fighting.  This is $269.

I am open to any and all suggestions because I really want to do something to make it look a little better.  You know I don’t mind using storage bins but David thinks a toy box would look better.  Ahhh who knows!

Ace of Cakes

“God couldn’t be everywhere so that is why he invented mothers.”

“I stocked your freezer. You now have enough meat to feed every guy who answers your ad.”-Must Love Dogs

I am hooked on this show called Ace of Cakes.  I was up till 1 a.m. watching this show because the cakes they make are freakin awesome.  Last night they showed them making a gumball machine with real bubble gum, a scrabble board, and a slot machine.  If you haven’t checked this show out you really should because the cakes they make are awesome.  And the funny thing is that they don’t look like your regular bakers-they’re edgy and cool and very talented.  I mean these people use all kinds of unconventional things like blow torches and power tools.  The owner is Duff Goldman and most of the people who work for him are his friends.  Man I wish we had a place like that here but we don’t and they don’t ship cakes so unless you live in Baltimore, Maryland I guess you’re out of luck.  Anyway checkout there website Charm City Cakes and there are all kinds of cakes there to look at, and if you want to watch the show go to Food Network and it will the list the dates and times.

5 months to go.

“You’re like the drummer from REO Speedwagon. Nobody knows who you are.”

“With great power comes great responsibility.” This is my gift, my curse.”-Spiderman

In case you’re wondering it’s 5 months until Christmas-that’s right Christmas is just right around the corner.  I’m sure y’all think I’m crazy but I can’t help it I love the holidays and I especially love Christmas.  So for the past few days I’ve been working on a budget and I think I pretty much have it all figured out.  I’ve also been looking around on the web for some toys for the kids.  And during my search for toys I came across this one that I’m going to have to get for David.

Meet the Optimus Prime Helmet.  You put the helmet on and talk and it changes your voice to sound like a robot.  Now before you ask David is my husband and he’s 26, and sometimes he’s a big kid at heart.  The reason I want to get this for him is because ever since I came back from camp he’ll say stuff in his robotic voice like “Hello my name is Optimus Prime.”  Like I said he’s a big kid and that’s what I love about him.

Ok now back to the kids.  I haven’t had any problem finding stuff for the Monkey but for Sweet Pea it’s been a lot harder.  I looked around different sites and nothing really sticks out.  She has some baby dolls, a couple of Barbie’s, stuffed animals, Little People, oh you get the idea.  so for those of you with little girls around the age of 4 I could use some suggestions.

Now onto me.  I can honestly say that I don’t know what I want for Christmas, ok well I do want a pair of converse sneakers.  The white ones that slip on, what can I say I had some growing up and I would love to have another pair.  Other than that I don’t really know what else to ask for, maybe some tops but I don’t know.  Again I know it’s early but what do some of y’all want.

Hello Again!

“Tell me something, my friend. You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?”

“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”-Dodge Ball

First off let me just say that I missed talking to all of you-seriously.  The weather has been kind of bad out here and our service was well temporairly interrupted, but thankfully this morning I’m back up and running and extremely happy.  I can’t tell you how hard it’s been not being able to use my computer-I know sad.  I guess because I didn’t realize how many things I use it for until I can’t use it at all.  Oh and the worse part is that everytime I would walk past it, it was almost like it was laughing saying “ha, ha, ha, you can’t use the internet and I get a break.”  Well no more breaks because I’m back and I have a lot of reading to catch up on in bloggy world.

As for my week it’s been really good-again minus computer.  Sweet Pea is still with my sister and she hasn’t once asked to come home.  I’m glad she’s having a good time but I’m also glad she’s coming home tomorrow.  As for me and my Chunky Monkey well we’ve been having fun just hanging out and playing.  I think for the most part he’s enjoyed having me all to himself, and I don’t blame him, I’ve enjoyed spending one-on-one time with him.

So what else have I been doing these past couple of days, well for one not going anywhere because it’s been raining like mad crazy out here this week.  Oh but not today, today it’s beautiful but it’s really hot outside.  Ok so while he was taking a nap the other day I was bored and nothing good was on t.v. so I decided to play one of David’s video games.  Now I  haven’t played video games in forever-but I decided to try and play one anyway.  Plus David wasn’t home and couldn’t “help out” and I was able to figure most of it out myself.  And now I’m hooked and the game I’m hooked on is Kingdom Hearts on Playstation 2.

Now on to some really cool news.  Burg  has nominated me for this sweet little award that I get to post in my sidebar and I even get the chance to nominate some other really rockin chicks that I read on a daily basis.  Can you tell that I’m excited-I can’t help it.  Call me a dork if you want but I haven’t been nominated for anything in the blogosphere and I feel honored.  And Burg I love your blog and all the stories you tell of your in-laws; it’s nice to know that there are other people who have crazy families.  Because there are times when I think my family would be perfect for a show like Maury Povich or Jerry Springer.

Now on to my picks of chicks that really rock:

Tracy-From the first time I read her blog I was hooked.  I love how she tells her stories of being a mom and everything else that follows.  Oh and love her posts on celeb guys and girls that are hot, because really folks we all do a little daydreaming but she’s not afraid to post about it.

Catwoman-Now this crazy girl is guarenteed to give you a good laugh.  She talks about anything and everything, and I mean everything.
Chris-She always has some interesting posts and just fun stuff to read about-like the one about a device that helps woman pee standing up.

MGM-Even though I feel sorry for her because of her crazy neighbors it’s still funny to read about some of the things that happen.

But the one thing I should say about all these women and the many of blogs I read is that I really love their stories about their children and ups and downs of motherhood.  There are times when I need a pick-me-up from the day to day and these women always give me a good laugh and good advice.  The way they tell their stories about their children is precious and priceless.  So thank you ladies for always making my day a little better.  *This also goes out to all the other blogs that I read everyday, and the ones listed on my sidebar.  Seriously y’all are what make blogging for me so much fun.*  Speaking of my sidebar I need to add a few more blogs, so I’m off but I will be back sometime today and if not definetly tomorrow. 🙂

On This Day

 “Listen! Do you smell something?”

And Shepherds we shall be For thee, my Lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomeni Patri Et Fili
[Guns Cock]  Spiritus Sancti.” -Boondock Saints

So the other day I was reading some of my favorite blogs when I saw that Burg had done this really fun meme and I decided I wanted to do it too.  Here are the rules you go to Wikipedia and type in your birthday (only the month and day).  Then you write down 3 events, 2 births, 1 holiday, and then you tag 5 friends.

3 Events

  • 1880 Thomas Edison files a patent for his electric incandescent lamp.
  • 1967 More than sixty nations sign the Outer Space Treaty banning nuclear weapons in space.
  • 1997 It is revealed that French museums have nearly 2,000 pieces of art that were stolen by Nazis.

2 Births

  • 1756 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
  • 1832 Lewis Carroll

1 Holiday

  • United Kingdom-Holocaust Memorial Day

Are you sleeping?

“In telling the story of my father’s life, it’s impossible to separate fact from fiction, the man from the myth. The best I can do is to tell it the way he told me. It doesn’t always make sense and most of it never happened… but that’s what kind of story this is.”

“A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you’re talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who’s gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all night.”-Casino

Do you ever get the feeling that someone else is in the room with you?  Yesterday morning I was laying in bed about half asleep because I wasn’t yet ready to go get Chunky Monkey.  When I wake up and who is standing over me just staring-SweetPea, she scared the crap out of me.  And what does she do she smiles and says “Mommy did I give you a frighten?”  To say the least yes-and can you please not do that again.  It’s now naptime and since I had a pounding headache I decided to lay down too.  I was having a crazy dream where I was fighting off this guy when I feel someone touch my face.  Yes it was Sweet Pea AGAIN!  I asked what she was doing and she said I wanted to give you a kiss.  Well I kind of snapped at her and told her if she wanted to give me a kiss she needed to wait until I was awake, and to not stand over me like that to just wake me up.  I did feel bad afterwards but seriously folks she scared the crap out of me not once but twice yesterday.  I mean wouldn’t that scare you?  But once I got out of bed I gave her a big hug and kiss and now all is better.

Now onto Chunky Monkey, I’m not sure what his problem has been lately but everytime I put him in bed for a nap he goes crazy and starts crying.  And yes I let him stay in there for a few minutes thinking surely he’ll go to sleep like he normally does.  Nope doesn’t happen and I’ve had to go back in his room and get him and lay down with him for him to calm down.  The first time I did this I decided to lay him down in bed with me.  He cried for a few seconds and then sat straight just looking around.  I’m now trying to lay there pretending I’m asleep thinking he’ll get the message.  Instead I feel him hovering over me and then with his mouth wide open he gives a big wet slobbery kiss.  I’m now trying not to laugh but I can’t help it.  So I try to lay him down with me again and then this time I feel him trying to stick his finger up my nose.  I tell him no he laughs and keeps trying to do it anyway.  Back to crib we go and thankfully he falls asleep.  Now when I have trouble during naptime I lay on the couch and that seems to calm him down better-go figure.
