See that little smiley up there?  That has been me the past few days.  I’ve decided to really get off my lazy but and start exercising.  Here’s what I’ve been doing: 

  • Fri.- walked 1 3/4 mi (2 laps I jogged)
  • Sat.- bike 25 min 5 mi
  • Mon.- bike 20 min 4 mi
  • Tues.-bike 30 min 5.5 mi

Ok so here’s my question when I say bike it’s a stationary bike, anyways do you think I’m getting a good enough workout to loose weight by doing this.  I mean I know it’s good exercise and cardio but will I loose the weight as efficiently as if I was walking/jogging on a track.  Either way I’m exercising and that’s a start, oh I’ve also started stretching and man that’s been kind of tough.  So I guess you can say that I’m back on the weight loss challenge because I’m seriously determined to shed some pounds.  Last bit of info. start weight was 166 lbs and now I’m 164 lbs.  But it’s not because of exercise although it’s helped not putting on those 2 lbs.  Ok wish me luck. 🙂

Week 6: June 11-17

Once again my weight has stayed the same-166 lbs.  I’m glad it hasn’t increased but I do wish it would go down some.  However, this past week I worked not once but twice-yeah go me!  LOL!  I rode the bike twice last week and I even did crunches, oh yeah and I did some stretching.  I didn’t work out yesterday but I plan on doing it some time today.  I’m also trying to get Mimi (mil) to work out with me that way I’ll stay motivated and she’s been talking about doing it too. 

As for Ashly well she’s kicking butt, she’s exercising at least 3 days a week and has really cut back on what she eats-way to go Ashly!  What’s funny is she has never been a person who worked out or even played any sports growing up.  Now there’s me, I was the one who played sports and worked out all the time.  And now I can’t even really motivate myself-IT’S DRIVING ME CRAZY!  I know I complain about my motivation every week and I’m sorry it’s just aggravating.  I’ll do good for a couple of days and then the next day I won’t feel like it.  Ok hopefully everyone else is doing well.  🙂

Week 5: June 4-10

Now on to the weight that I didn’t loose this week-again!  But the good thing is that I didn’t gain any either so I stayed the same.  The funny thing is I’ve been telling Ashly how I’ve been trying to workout and I’ll usually do it at least one day a week.  Well her and her friend have been working out at least 3 times a week and she’s watching what she eats-that’s the motivation I need.  Hopefully everyone else is keeping strong.

Week 4: May 28-June 3

Well I didn’t loose any weight but I didn’t gain any either so I should be happy.  But I’m not really because I only exercised once last week.  What I did was an abs pilate video and let me tell you my abs were sore the next day.  Seriously someone needs to light a fire under my butt because I don’t know what my problem is.  Actually I think I do, I like working out with someone but as of now I have no one since most people I know work or don’t go to the same gym.  Ahh the gym-mental note-must go to gym at least once this week.  Hopefully everyone else is doing well.

Week 3: May 21-27

 Ok so last week I weighed 166 lbs and today I weigh 163.6-I’ve lost 2.4 lbs.  I can’t believe it, and I’m not even sure how I lost that much.  Considering I only rode the bike once last week-I know bad Jesse, but hey I’m trying.

Last week I was asked about women gaining muscle mass.  Here is what I know *I’m no expert*

You can gain muscle by weight training and no women will not look like men by lifting weights.  As for losing fat you have to do some type of aerobic exercise.  A good way to tell how much you’re losing is not by what the scales says although it does make me happy; it’s checking how much you’ve lost in inches.  Which is something I have yet to do, so since I’m writing about it I will write down my measurements sometime today.

I’m also sure many of you know the benefits to exercising-again I’m saying this for my benefit since I know the pros and have yet to really motivate myself.

  1. Increased energy

  2. Better self-esteem

  3. Reduced chance of a heart attack

  4. Reduced chance of osteoporosis

  5. Reduced chance of breast cancer

  6. Increased strength and stamina

  7. Less depression 

I have a really good book called “The Body Sculpting Bible for Women.”  It has a lot of useful exercises for people who can not go to a gym.  Again I have a gym membership that I don’t use and David will be so kind to remind me about it from time-to-time.  But if you have any type of workout videos those can be very helpful.  I don’t know if I cleared up any questions but if you have any more or would like some exercises just give me a holler.  Have a great day and keep up the good work ladies. 🙂

Week 2: May 14-20

Well this week wasn’t as good as last week since I gained 1lb.  Actually I’m glad I didn’t gain more than that because I kind of pigged out on fast food, but I did manage to ride a stationary bike twice this week.  On Wed. I rode it for 15 min., and then Fri. for 35 min.  Go Me!  So this week I really need to get on the ball and stay away from greasy fast food and get my butt on that bike more than twice a  week.  Hopefully everyone else is doing great.

Week 1

 Well I stepped on the scale this morning and I can’t believe it I’ve lost 2 lbs.-yay!!  And I really can’t believe it because I only worked out one day last week-I know, I know, shame on me.  But I’ll tell you what I did do:

  1. I didn’t super-size my meal if I ate fast food
  2. I drank no more than 2 cokes a day and that’s good since I was drinking at least three.
  3. I ate only three meals a day.
  4. I ate dinner around 7 and if I was hungry later I wouldn’t eat any dessert-which by the way has been super hard since I have two packages of carmel popcorn left.
  5. I’ve been drinking more water, but still no where near 8 glasses a day.

So that’s what I’ve been doing but seriously folks I’ve got to workout this week-no excuses.

Weight Loss Challenge

Ok ladies today is the start of the Weight Loss Challenge, so is you want to loose a little or a lot this is worth checking out.  Also I’m doing this so all of you can hold me accountable and if I’m not working out, and trying to eat right please feel free to give me a slap on the wrist.

Growing up I was never overweight, once I hit puberty I was still pretty thin but I did get a nice set of lovehandles.  Which some think is weird since in high school I weighed around 125 lbs.-oh and I’m 5’6″.  Oh how I wish I never worried about my weight when I was in high school, and even in my early 20’s-very stupid.  It wasn’t until after my first child that I wasn’t able to loose any of the weight I gained-maybe 10 lbs.  But by the second one I’m back up and I’m tired of not fitting into any of my clothes.  I mean seriously I just bought some capri’s a few months ago and now I can’t even button them.  Well it does have something to do with the fact that I have a gym membership and I never use it-I’ve been very lazy, and I don’t eat right.

Now for my goal and what I plan to do.  Ok I’m going to be brave and post my current weight and what I would like to get to-ready…  I weigh 167 lbs, and I would like to weigh at least 140 lbs-about 27 lbs.  When you look at me I don’t look overweight but looks can be deceiving because all of my weight is in the stomach region.  And starting today I plan on working out-riding a bike, maybe hitting the gym, or at least doing some workout videos.  As for a diet well all in moderation for now, I’m going to try my hardest to drink plenty of water and cut back to one coke a day.  Wish me luck.

Weight Loss Challenge

Yesterday Liz posted a May Day Weight Loss Challenge that Tales From the Scales is hosting.  Which comes at a perfect time because I was going to write about how I need to shed off some pounds, and I thought what a perfect way to try to loose.  This way there are other women who are doing this and y’all that can help me be accountable because I’ve been having a hard time keeping myself motivated.  The sad part is that I have a gym membership that I don’t use and some pilate videos that are collecting dust.  So I’m going to try this and see if it helps and if any of you want to join that would be awesome because then we can ask each other how it’s going.
